Getting to the Atlas Performing Arts Center and the H Street Playhouse Just Got a Little Bit Easier

From the Washington Post’s Backstage column on January 21, 2009:

“Theatergoers tired of hunting for scarce parking spots around the 1300 block of H Street NE when heading to the Atlas Performing Arts Center or H Street Playhouse can try a new free shuttle. It will run evenings from 5 p.m. till Metro closes between the Gallery Place Metro station (at Seventh and H streets NW) and the Minnesota Avenue Metro station (on Benning Road NE). The shuttle will stop in front of the Atlas, at 1333 H St. NE, which is also near H Street Playhouse (1365 H St. NE). The buses have green-and-white H Street NE logos.”

So now there are no excuses for missing all those great cabaret shows by local performers!

Coming Soon: DC Cabaret Network Members Only Showcase!

sheet_music1Due to the huge success of the DC Cabaret Network Members Only Showcases, another one is planned for Sunday, March 1, 8:00pm at The Arts Club of Washington. The first 12 people who send an email to Info@dccabaretnetwork.org on Wednesday, February 4th will be performing.  (Emails sent before that date will not be considered.)

Please note that preference will be given to members who did not perform in the other fabulous showcases.  The extraordinarily talented Alex Tang will again be the Music Director and accompanist, and Judy Simmons will direct.  You will have a strictly held 6-minute slot with no more than two songs and patter.  More information will be sent to the performers about rehearsal times.  You will get one 20-minute rehearsal with Alex and there will be a dress rehearsal in the afternoon on the day of the performance.
