Words and Music, a master class for singers taught by Laurel Masse’ (Founding member of the Grammy award winning Manhattan Transfer) and Wendy Lane Bailey (founder of the DC Cabaret Network, and a Backstage Bistro award winner) Saturday, February 23rd 10 AM – 2:00 PM.
Singing Well Is Just the Beginning: an effective singer knows how to how to get to the heart of a song, structure a set, communicate with fellow musicians, and make a connection with the audience. Words and Music is a four hour master class covering the basics of song performance, patter writing, working with a music director, handling onstage mistakes, and sequencing a set. We will also touch briefly on other issues such as marketing, Networking, and packaging.
Created by singers for singers of all genres, the class is designed to help students get the most from every performance. Class size will be limited to allow personal attention and ample performance time for each participant.
The cost of the class is $150, there is a 10% discount for Cabaret Network and WAMA members.
