Are you asking this question because you want to come up with some new spaces? I just saw Hub Theatre do “The Pavillion” at First Stage Tyson’s Corner. It’s a nice space–not too large, is relatively easy to get to, and free parking. According to their website, it’s 6500 square feet of flexible space has 100 seats. They don’t advertise the space, but I wonder if someone contacted them, they might be amenable.
Just a thought!

Arlington Virginia Network (a local station) last night aired a show that had info about the Arlington Cultural Center which will be housed in the “old” Newseum building!! There will be a theatre (under the dome) which seats 200+, a black box and a cooridor area which will be used as a ballroom and (as John Palmer Claridge, of Arlington County Cultural Affairs said) for CABARET! I’m not sure if they are planning to contact us, but I’m sure some of us will be contacting them!! It seems the hopeful opening will be in Autumn 2010.

I went to a couple of Fringe Fest shows that were held in The Shop at 610 L St. NW. It was a great space with raked seating. No piano. I don’t know what the plans are for this space after the Fringe Fest, but it would make a great performance space.
